I consider Aventus Cologne an excellent attempt to merge the classic Aventus with the designer Allure Homme Sport, taking the very best from each composition. From Aventus — its long-lasting, diffusive vertical built on Ambroxan, Helvetolide, patchouli, and bergamot; and from AHS — the creamy aquatic tone shaped by tonka bean, Helional, and Calone.
The classic Aventus has a tendency to become cloying, especially in hot summer weather, when high temperatures bring its leathery and smoky notes to the forefront. Aventus Cologne, however, doesn’t have this issue, though for particularly sensitive noses the tonka note might feel a bit too prominent.
For three years now, I’ve been wearing Aventus Cologne every spring and summer. When creating the compound, I based it on the scent of my own bottle from the early batches.
Olfactory profile: citrus, aquatic, spicy, woody, musky.
Concentration: parfum.
