The theme of alcoholic accords in perfumery has never been fully explored. After trying several fragrances on this topic, I thought I would never find a whiskey that suited me — until I tried Baraonda…

Those who are familiar with the brand know that its fragrances, much like the perfumer himself, are highly original, somewhat wild, and at times even strange. After analyzing many formulas, I even found them to be technically unconventional. In this case, I have never seen anyone use such a huge amount of extremely expensive musks, which are normally dosed only in trace amounts. Here, literally 60% of the composition consists of Ambroxan, Muscone, and Scentolide — which already makes Baraonda’s cost price about seven times higher than anything you can find on the shelves of Sephora or Douglas.

I don’t like dividing fragrances by gender, but here I see nothing less than a man. And not just a man — a gentleman. The scent opens with smoky whiskey, layered with a woody undertone and a beautiful rose that, for me, creates that very gentlemanly vibe.

The best seasons for Baraonda, in my opinion, are autumn and winter. As for occasions, it might feel slightly heavy for daily wear. A date, a business meeting or even a wedding — those are ideal settings for it.
